Do
- Play without delay
- Aim to keep up with the group in front, not just
in front of the group behind.
- If a ball is proving difficult to find, wave the
following game through, before continuing the search
- Be ready to play your next shot when it is your
turn
- Shout a warning ‘FORE’ if you think
your ball may hit someone
- Watch the flight of all balls in your group to
assist in finding them
- Be prepared to help a fellow player look for their
ball
- Repair divot holes and pitch marks
- Rake bunkers
Don’t
- Play until players ahead are out of your possible
range. If in doubt, wait.
- Step on the line of a fellow player’s putt
- Allow your shadow to fall across the player’s
line of putt
- Damage the hole or the putting green when attending
or removing the flagstick
- Chatter, or make any distraction, while your fellow
player is playing
- Make other noises (walking on gravel, choosing
clubs etc) which could distract others on adjoining
holes
- Lose your temper, drop your golf bag or throw
clubs
